Stop Doing This One Thing To Eliminate Stress In Your Life

One thing I've stopped doing that has helped my mental stress tremendously is making promises. I like to make promises and 9 times out of 10 I can't keep them. Life is full of circumstances that are beyond our control. For instance, my car is in the shop and it's going to take what seems like a bazillion dollars to fix it.  My husband and I have been looking at new ones. After looking at several we settled on one. We told the salesman that we would be there today at one to sign the papers. Unbeknownst to us, the site that issues his paycheck is down for maintenance. No money, no car. He's devastated, but I'm like that's life! The sooner you realize you can't control everything, the better.

Another thing I stopped doing is making plans. It seems as though every time I make plans, a wrench gets thrown in them. I have a bad habit of telling customers that I'll have their order shipped same day. Typically, this is within my capabilities. However, every time I say that something comes up to where I'm unable to follow through. I like making my customers happy, but at the same time, I have to allow myself time to ensure the customer has nothing less than a five-star experience.

Ultimately, you need to stop and take an assessment of your life. Does it tend to be chaotic? If so, try this mentality on for size. I have and its helped.
