Stop Doing This One Thing To Eliminate Stress In Your Life

One thing I've stopped doing that has helped my mental stress tremendously is making promises. I like to make promises and 9 times out of 10 I can't keep them. Life is full of circumstances that are beyond our control. For instance, my car is in the shop and it's going to take what seems like a bazillion dollars to fix it.  My husband and I have been looking at new ones. After looking at several we settled on one. We told the salesman that we would be there today at one to sign the papers. Unbeknownst to us, the site that issues his paycheck is down for maintenance. No money, no car. He's devastated, but I'm like that's life! The sooner you realize you can't control everything, the better.  Another thing I stopped doing is making plans. It seems as though every time I make plans, a wrench gets thrown in them. I have a bad habit of telling customers that I'll have their order shipped same day. Typically, this is within my capabilities. However, every ti...

Preparing For Summer

Image
The past few days have been wonderful weatherwise. It definitely feels like we are in the throes of mid-summer with the current heat and humidity. In my opinion, every year brings that feeling of wanting to change up my style. With that in mind, here are some styles from sites that I'm loving. Natural Life has some of the most gorgeous patterned clothes, accessories, home, stationary, and car. It gives off that boho beach vibe that closely resembles Free People but at a fraction of the cost. Below are some of my favorite pieces. https://www.naturallife.com/ Let me introduce you to Flora! The Flora skirt is a maxi skirt that converts into a midi dress. How cool is that. Talk about versatility at it's finest.  If you're looking for effortless bottoms, palazzo pants are the way to go. The Patti palazzo pants comes in 9 different colors and patterns. They have a super stretchy elastic waistband and tiered wide legs. How perfect are these? Just slip them on and you're out t...

Vintage Finds

Image
I've always loved vintage fashion. I can remeber my Mom's style throughout the years. Boy was it iconic. Standing at 5'7, she was lean with long dark brown hair. She resembled Cher from back in the day. My favorite dress she had was a fuchsia dress with red hearts that belted at the waist. I used to borrow it to wear it to church. I wish I knew the brand so i could find it.  Another piece was a denim dress that buttoned all the way down the front that she wore with knee high boots. Thank you to Anthropologie for having this gorgeous dress that closely resembles her original.  Recently, I found the most gorgeous apron skirt while thrifting. This gorgeous yellow wrap skirt is circa 1960 or 70. It is a bright yellow with an orange polka dot waistband accented with contrasting green grosgrain ribbon. Applique flowers feature embroidered trim. It even has mice! I've been searching for the perfect top to highlight the colors of the skirt but will add the perfect amount of con...

Loving Nature

Image
Living in a rural area has it's perks. My favorite thing to do in the morning is sit on my front porch and watch nature unfold, especially in the Summer. The birds are hunting for food or playing. Insects are out in full-force. Most of all traffic is low so it's peaceful. I'm usually up before my family, so I try to collect my thoughts and prepare for my day. I usually go on Poshmark to check for sales. If you're not familiar with it. It's a resale app that has new and used clothing, ,shoes, handbags, jewelry, beauty, home, electronics, and pet gear. After that, I check my Instagram. I usually check out Pinterest to see what's new. Then, I just sit and watch nature. Here are some photos Ive captured thoughout the years that we have lived in our house. We've been here for going on 9 years. It's hard to believe it's been that long. It's just a small 4 bedroom ranch, but it has an amazing covered front porch with a view of a beautiful tree (it's...
